The Metropolitan Environmental TRaining Alliance(METRA) is a not for profit environmental partnership whose objective is to provide little or no cost, professional environmental education to the Central Florida small business community and local government agencies.

The Alliance is made up of regulators, environmental product and service vendors, and the regulated community. The diversity of our membership has been our key to success with our membership including over 25 government entities and private corporations.

METRA solicits editorials on appropriate environmental issues. Please email your editorial and photograph for consideration by the Editiorial Committee Chairperson.
 
METRA held a general contractor training event on June 10 th at the Altamonte Springs Eastmonte Civic Center.  The event attracted 70 attendants from the industry to learn industry-specific training on  waste management, air emissions, stormwater management, site responsibilities and green building.  The event is a low-cost training event help periodically around greater Central Florida in various locations to suit intended audiences.  A participant evaluation survey indicated that 98 % agreed or strongly agreed that the workshop provided a good understanding of environmental topics.
